A new act of vandalism was registered in the Arena Jaragua, in the north of Santa Catarina, this Thursday (25). In early May, another case was registered at the facility when the partitions in the bathroom were damaged and covered with graffiti.
This time the target was the man’s bathroom mirror, which turned out to be broken. The structure is located outside the Arena, for the use of the community. For the Minister of Culture, Sports and Leisure, Natalia Lucia Petri, this act represents a crime against property and a disregard for public money.
According to the city of Jaragua, the perpetrator of the vandalism was ultimately hurt, as bloodstains were found at the scene, as well as bits of toilet paper that may have been used to close the wound.
The military police and the Minister of Culture, Sports and Recreation are investigating the case to try to identify those responsible. Under article 163 of the Brazilian Penal Code, vandalism is a crime. Punishment ranges from six months to three years in prison in addition to aggravating circumstances.
