Financial debt almost ended in death in Mondai, in the Far West of Santa Catarina. A man was shot and killed while trying to resolve an unresolved issue related to the repair of a car after a traffic accident.
The crime of attempted murder was recorded by the PM (military police) around noon on Thursday (25). The police were called on Anildo Heisler Street in the Uruguay region.
The 38-year-old victim was rescued by the fire department with a gunshot wound to his left leg. The Prime Minister went with the victim to the hospital in Mondai to hear his version of events.
The man told police that he went to the suspect’s home to shoot and told his wife that he needed to talk to him. The woman allegedly reported that she thought her husband would not be home for dinner. However, the victim decided to sit in the area and wait for him.
Moments later, according to the victim, the man [com quem possuía a pendência financeira] appeared in the window of the house and fired three times. Two shots were fired at the victim and the third at the suspect’s wife. The victim also claimed that the man was screaming for him and his own wife to leave the scene.
What did the wife say?
The suspect’s wife told police she was at home when the man came to talk to her husband, but she said he was not at home.
She even claimed that she knew the man only by sight. However, at some point the husband appeared at the window, shooting and telling them to get out of there.

The suspect in the shooting fled in a Chevrolet/Cruze vehicle. Searches were made, but the man was not found. In the afternoon, the PMRv (military traffic police) of Ypora do Oueste found the suspect’s car abandoned in the countryside in Mondai.
The vehicle was assembled and sent to the confiscation site. A statement was filed with the police, the suspect is still on the run.
The incident also received the support of military police garrisons from neighboring cities, tactical, branch nursery, civilian police and scientific police.
Mondai civil police chief Thiago Gomez said that an investigation showed that it was an attempted murder for no reason, caused by a traffic accident.
“The victim and two witnesses were interrogated. Authorship has already been confirmed. Given that the suspect was not apprehended at the scene of the crime and is on the run, an appropriate police investigation was launched to establish the facts. The expertise has been determined, we are waiting for the reports,” added the delegate.
