‘I thought I was going to die’: woman survives 5 days with wine and candy after getting lost in the forest

A 48-year-old Australian woman survived for five days on candy and a bottle of wine after she got lost in a forest in the Victorian wilderness. According to police, she had no cell phone signal and health problems prevented her from walking for some time.

According to local portal 9News, Lillian was making a short trip to Dartmouth Dam on April 30 when she took a wrong turn and ended up in a dead end with her car stuck in the mud.

Lillian spent five days in the forest with only a bottle of wine she bought for her mother and a few lollipops. According to her, she had few supplies because she planned the trip for only one day.

Due to health problems, the woman said she could not seek help, so she stayed in her car.

“Although she could not move the car, she managed to turn on the heater at night to warm up a little,” said the police officer in charge of the rescue.

After a while, her body began to shut down and she was convinced that she would not survive. On the fourth day, she wrote a heartfelt letter to her family saying she loved them.

“I thought I would die there,” she told 9news. Lillian was discovered by a Victoria Police helicopter flying overhead. Seeing the plane, the woman waved her hand, calling for help.
