An apartment on the 14th floor of a house on Rua Henrique Dias, in Blumenau, in the Itajaí valley, was completely destroyed after a building fire. A large movement of people attracted the attention of the residents of the Velha area this Friday night (14).

According to rescuers, about 14 firefighters took part in extinguishing the fire, which started around 17:20. There were also the Military Police, SAMU (Mobile Emergency Service) and MMT (Municipal Road Guard).

When firefighters arrived, all residents of the 15-story building were ordered to leave the area. After the fire was brought under control, with the exception of the residents of the floor where the burnt apartment is located, the residents were able to safely return to their apartments.

At the time of the fire, information appeared that a teenager and a domestic dog were in the burning apartment. However, rescuers confirmed that the teenager was no longer there, and only a lifeless dog was found, not far from the fire.

The fire was controlled using the pressure hydrant of the building, through which the elimination of the consequences of the fire was also carried out. The apartment has an area of ​​about 107 m², the flame destroyed all the furniture and things in one of the rooms.

Other areas had damage caused by smoke and soot. After the fire was brought under control, a fan was used to remove the smoke that had engulfed the area.

On this Saturday morning (15) a small fire was recorded again in the same apartment. The fire was extinguished and the place was ventilated for new ash removal.

The cause of the fire could not be determined at the time of rescue operations. The owner of the apartment and the manager of the building were instructed by the firefighters on the procedure, and the house destroyed by the fire was isolated for future examination, which will indicate the causes and origin of the fire.
