Work in progress under the 1000 Plan, under which public resources have been transferred to municipalities, will be subject to on-site verification to verify their correctness. This initiative is being promoted by the state government in partnership with the CGE (Computer General of the State).
Work will begin next week and will focus on the construction and renovation of buildings that have already received more than 3 million reais from the state.
Approximately 24 municipalities in different regions of Santa Catarina will be visited. The works to be verified, totaling 108.8 million reais in the form of special translations.
Verification of work will be carried out in two moments
This on-site inspection will be carried out in two stages. In the mayor’s office, auditors will analyze the documents to make sure that the processes are legal and that there are resources to carry out the work. Next, a test will be carried out to verify the effectiveness of the investment.
“After working in the field, we will prepare a report describing the situation found, any problems and, if applicable, recommendations for correcting possible failures or improving processes,” explains Controller General Cicero Barbosa.
The CGE, together with the Secretariat of Finance, has prepared a new decree establishing the rules for the provision of special transfers submitted and approved in 2021 and 2022, published in the Official Gazette of March 31, 2023.
The transfers will be conditional on the conclusion of agreements guaranteeing greater control and transparency and the implementation of the recommendations of the Prosecutor’s Office, the Accounts Chamber and the AEG itself.
