Two men suspected of being involved in the robbery of a jewelry store in Balneario Camboriu were arrested this Tuesday after a BR-101 (11) high-speed chase. The robbery happened last Saturday (8).

A car that could have been used to commit the crime was found in the Cedros area of ​​Camboriu and pulled up in front of the house. According to police, one of the men entered and left the house, looking around. This attitude forced the police to escort the car, which was heading to Itapema on a BR-101.

Near the PRF (Federal Highway Police) station, on the south side of the highway, the police ordered the car to stop, but the driver, trying to escape, increased speed. When escaping at an altitude of 148 km, a plastic bag was dropped on the shoulder of the BR-101. The police managed to approach the car at the Porto Belo toll booth about 17 km after the first stop order.

During a search of the car, four cigarettes with a substance similar to marijuana were found, and 127 rifle cartridges of 5.56 mm caliber were found in a discarded plastic bag. The suspects were two young men aged 28 and 27.

The two men were arrested at the scene and taken along with the seized materials to the Itapema police station.
