Top 10 Brazilian Anime Dubs

Starting with a classic that is always remembered for its iconic voice acting (and that if it wasn’t included in this list, many otaku would be outraged). Yu Yu Hakusho is one of those cases where Brazilian fans prefer the national dub to the Japanese one.

This anime received two dubs, the first aired in the 90s on TV Manchete and the second aired on Cartoon Network in 2000. Although they are different, both were produced by the same studios and with the same same voice actors (not to mention some deceased).

The second version is considered the best because the voice actors decided to improvise with Brazilian jokes and slang.

This anime was dubbed in Rio de Janeiro by Som de Vera Cruz at a time when most anime was dubbed in Sao Paulo, so it ended up bringing freshness and new voices to the production.

The Brazilian dub of this anime was produced by the famous studio Alamo, and its dub is well remembered for the wonderful voice of the protagonist Alucard.

The character already carries a dark aura, so the voice acting helped further heighten his menacing side. Surprisingly, this character is voiced by the same guy who voiced Scar in the first FMA dub (2003), demonstrating the wide range of voices a professional can achieve.

Knights of the Zodiac is an anime that fans have really enjoyed when it comes to dubbing it, and it can’t be left out of this list!

Jujutsu Kaisen is an anime that has recently received its adaptation and it certainly deserves a spot on this list. Its Brazilian dub not only fits perfectly with the original intent of the work, but also adds humor at the right moments and contains frequent references to other famous anime.

Even though this is a later dub, it doesn’t owe anything to the great classics and you can certainly have fun watching it both dubbed and with the original sound.
