A two-year-old boy died after being beaten to death on Wednesday evening (20) in Itaquera, in the eastern zone of Sao Paulo. According to the State Civil Police, the main suspects in the crime are the child’s parents.

According to military police officer Marcio Rocha, who is also the former son-in-law of the child’s mother, the boy was taken to the medical center already unconscious.

Beaten to death

Doctors tried to resuscitate the child, but to no avail. Death was pronounced on the spot. When asked about the various bruises the boy had, the parents were unable to explain them and the charges were inconsistent with the injuries.

The medical team then called the military police, who took both to the police station, where they give statements. Witnesses were also called to provide explanations.

Also, according to Marcio, the boy’s father’s name is Rodrigo Pinheiro Queiroz, he is 27 years old, he has four children, including the deceased Rodrigo Junior.

He had already been arrested and investigated for stalking and attempting to kidnap his former partner in Santos, on the south coast of Sao Paulo, in May this year.

Rodrigo Junior’s mother is Eliana da Paixao dos Santos, 21 years old. She was also attacked by her partner.

Board of Trustees previously activated

Marcio also said that on November 12, the boy was hospitalized at the Santa Marcelina Hospital in Itaquera with bruises similar to those caused by aggression.

At this time, the Guardian Council was convened, and the child was taken from his mother and left with his maternal grandmother. After this, Junior was returned to Eliana. Marcio could not explain the reason.

The boy’s grandmother told RECORD that she was in contact with the Board of Guardians of the Cidade Tiradentes unit because she was trying to obtain custody of her grandson in court.

She said she believes her daughter consented to the attacks but no longer has much contact with Eliana, who has left the family.

She said that since November, her daughter blocked her on social networks, as well as other family members. The woman believes her daughter was coerced by Rodrigo.

The grandmother also said Eliana was already with the suspect when he attacked his former partner. His other children also suffered from aggression from their father.

The case is being heard at the 24th meeting of the DP (Ponte Rasa).

Rodrigo and Eliana’s defense has not been revealed, but the space remains open if they want to speak out.
