On Friday evening, a one-year-old child was rescued by Ilhota volunteer firefighters after choking on milk (8). The incident occurred around 21:15 on Feliciano Luis Goncalves Street in the city center.
According to the corporation, the guard on duty was caring for a 13-year-old child who had an asthma attack when the father, accompanied by other family members, entered the department with the baby in his arms.

The surveillance camera in the department recorded all the movements of the rescuers to save the child’s life and the concern of family members about the whole situation.
Once he was admitted, volunteer firefighters noticed he was flushed and short of breath. At the time of the incident, there were about six rescuers on the scene, and first aid was provided quickly.
According to the team, the baby produced a significant amount of milk. The airway was then cleared and visually inspected, and the victim was transported to the Pequeno Anjo Hospital in Itajaí for medical examination.
A 13-year-old child, who was treated until the baby was born, was also taken to the hospital.
