Two companies that were the target of an operation against fraud in the Detran system were closed by the civil police this Friday (1st) in Joinville, in the north of Santa Catarina.
According to delegate Pedro Alves, in charge of the case, it is a dispatcher located in the Americas area and an inspection company. Both were the subject of a search and seizure on Thursday (30) and were closed this afternoon following analysis of the material collected.
The owner of one of these banned companies was arrested for the same operation. The investigation continues as part of the 3rd DECOR.
Operation Abundance
According to delegate Raffaello Rossa, an outsourced server from Ciretran-Joinville stole a colleague’s password to access the Detran system in order to enter false information and unlock a suspended CNH (national driving license). “He believed that if the scheme was discovered, the blame would fall on his colleague,” Ross explains.
In just three months, around 59 drivers who had had their licenses suspended had their driving privileges reinstated, but at least 100 drivers could benefit from the scheme. “More than 50 drivers were from outside Joinville, including from other states,” Pedro Alves said during a press conference.
One of the drivers who received help had over 240 points on his driver’s license and was able to drive again. Delegate Pedro Alves said there was evidence that drivers paid for the service, but that detail would need to be examined further.
According to Pedro Alves, those under investigation can be prosecuted for crimes related to ideological falsification, the introduction of false information, corruption and even criminal organization.
