The agreement, approved by the Israeli government, provides for the release of at least 50 children, women and elderly people held by terrorists in the Gaza Strip.

In exchange, Hamas receives 300 Palestinian prisoners and a pause in hostilities for four days, plus an additional day for each group of ten kidnapped, which was originally five days.

Those abducted for release are 30 children, 8 mothers and 12 elderly women, while on the Palestinian side the 300 prisoners will be people who have already been accused of various crimes such as attacking police, making bombs and even throwing stones at Israelis. strength.

At the meeting, Israeli ministers were told that the hostages would be handed over by the terrorists to the Red Cross and taken to hospitals on the Israeli side of the border.

The first ceasefire is real, but temporary

It was the first ceasefire in the conflict, which began on October 7 following terrorist attacks by Hamas and Islamic Jihad on Israeli soil. About 1,200 people were killed and 240 were taken by extremists to Gaza.
