This Saturday (18) the authorities allowed traffic on the Ponte do Goio En highway, SC 480, the most important route between Chapeco and Rio Grande do Sul. After a thorough inspection, the safety of the design was confirmed.
Bridge inspection
The Western Regional Coordination Engineering Team of the Secretariat of Infrastructure and Mobility carried out an inspection and concluded that despite the high water levels, the structure is safe for traffic.
The organization reported that the volume of water is stable, allowing movement to continue in both directions. However, they remain vigilant about changes that may impact user security.
PMRv (Military Traffic Police) and Civil Defense warn drivers to be careful when traveling through the Serra do Goio En. Due to the rain, some sections of the highway are running in half-lane mode, requiring drivers to take extra care.
The release of this section is welcomed by many drivers who depend on this route for their tourism and commercial activities. The Goyo-En Bridge is an important link for the regional economy.
