The northern section of BR-101 in Santa Catarina was the subject of a meeting at ANTT (National Agency for Land Transport) in Brasilia. This Thursday (8), politicians and business leaders of Joinville demanded work to improve the region.
The purpose of the meeting was to agree on adjustments to the BR-101 concession agreement with Arteris. Representatives of Santa Catarina demanded the construction of secondary roads in the area between Garuva and Barra Velha.
In Joinville, the issue of additional work was raised at important points with high traffic flows, such as the overpasses on the streets of 15 November, Ottokar Derffel and Minas Gerais.
The main issue discussed at the meeting is related to mobility, security, development and competitiveness along the region’s main transport and logistics route.
Now the next step in this process is Arteris, which needs to complete projects that include the section of the federal highway between Garuva and Barra Velha. It should be delivered to ANTT by the end of December. The material will then be analyzed by the technical team and the TCU (Federal Audit Office). The period for publication of the conclusion on the continuity of the process is 180 days.
