This Saturday at around 7:30 (28) rescue teams from the city of Curitibanos were mobilized to deal with the tragic scene on the BR-470, when a 22-year-old young man became a fatal victim of a collision involving a car and a truck.
The incident occurred at the 265th kilometer, when a burgundy Scania truck with the license plate Estrela-RS crashed head-on into a red VW Gol.
The young man was only 22 years old – Photo: Social networks/Reproduction/NDThe truck driver was not injured. However, the story of the driver of the Gol, later identified as Paulo Henrique Goncalves, a resident of the city of Brunopolis, turned out to be different.
Paulo was found still inside the car, with multiple injuries, including extensive brain damage, and already dead. The tragedy left the entire community in mourning, where he was affectionately known as “Paulinho da Pina”.
Crews removed the young man’s body from the scene and the case was taken into custody at the IML (Institute of Medical Sciences) pending the arrival of the PRF (Federal Highway Police) for further investigation.
The death of the young man was felt by everyone
The news of the death of Paulo Henrique Gonçalves at the age of 22 was met with deep sorrow by his family and the Brunopolis community. A Funeral Home of the Child Jesus and members of Paulinho da Pina’s family spoke about what happened and gave details of the wake and funeral.
The funeral will be held this Saturday at 23:00 in the church pavilion of Rio dos Turos in Brunopolis. The funeral is scheduled for Sunday (29) at 15:00 at the Shidoko cemetery, also in the city.
“The bereaved family receives our deepest condolences and we hope that God will comfort the hearts of all family and friends in this moment of pain and farewell,” the funeral home wrote on social media.
