This Wednesday (18), the federal government will repatriate another 219 Brazilians from Israel. The sixth flight took off at around 15:00 (Brasilia time) from Tel Aviv towards Rio de Janeiro and is scheduled to land in the early morning of Thursday (19).

Itamaraty estimates there are another 150 Brazilians in the region awaiting repatriation. Of these, 120 are in Israel and about 30 remain in the Gaza Strip, the region hardest hit by the outbreak of war between Hamas and the Russian government.

The Foreign Office is advising anyone with air tickets or the ability to purchase them to board commercial flights from Ben Gurion Airport, which remains open. The government advises against non-essential travel to the region.

Brazilians in Gaza

A group of Brazilians and their immediate family awaiting evacuation from the Gaza Strip “remain sheltered in the cities of Khan Younis and Rafah, near the border with Egypt. The Government of Brazil, through the Brazilian Mission in Ramallah, maintains constant contact with citizens to whom it provides information and basic necessities. The federal government’s approach is to facilitate the entry of Brazilians and their immediate family into Egypt. A flight to Brazil landed this Wednesday in Al Arish to deliver a humanitarian donation.
