Brazilian Danilo Souza Cavalcante, 34, escaped from Chesco Jail in Chester County, Pennsylvania, in the US this Thursday (31). He was serving a life sentence as he was convicted on August 16 of the death of his ex-girlfriend, Deborah Evangelista Brandão. The crime happened in April 2021 in Phoenixville.
Danilo’s escape was reported by Chester’s law firm on Platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
The circumstances of the escape have not yet been explained, and during a press conference in the United States, the acting director of the prison, Howard Holland, said that the case was under investigation.
Inside the prison, as well as around, a sweep was carried out, but Danilo was never found. A helicopter and service dogs helped to find the fugitive.
Chester County issued a search warrant offering a $5,000 reward.
The Brazilian will be transferred from the prison where he was held in the coming weeks.

Deborah, 34, was killed in front of her two children, with whom she lived in the US. She was from Balsas, in Maranhao.
The crime could have happened because the Brazilian did not accept the end of the relationship and constantly threatened her.
Cavalcante is also wanted for his involvement in a 2017 murder in Tocantins. He is the defendant in a murder case in which a man was shot dead in a square in Figueiropolis.
