A teacher investigating the disappearance of a 12-year-old girl in Pomerode, in the Itajai Valley, tried to outsmart the police using the child’s own mobile phone. This is precisely what the investigation of the Civilian Police indicates, the details of which were made public on Monday morning (28) at a press conference on the case.

A teacher was arrested in a police attack on the shore of BR-101 in Joinville this Sunday (27). The girl was found at his house, on the false bottom of the bed. According to the civilian police, she was kept in a private prison, but she was not subjected to any violence.

According to the police, on Saturday afternoon (26) there was a delegate at the suspect’s house who was surprised and said that he had not seen the girl since Friday (24). The father also called the teacher on Saturday morning and asked for help. The professor said that he would help him, but he had no information about her whereabouts, although he kept the girl at home, in a hiding place.

Early in the morning of that day, members of the Civil Police came to the girl’s house and took away some of her clothes in order to facilitate the search and facilitate identification by the police dog.

A search and seizure warrant was issued in the professor’s house. Since no car was found and no one answered, the police broke down the door and entered the house.

The dog identified tracks that the girl could follow or be in the house. On the bed lay a backpack with children’s clothes. In addition, according to the delegate, a broken cell phone was found inside the house.

The police later discovered that the teacher had left the house. The vehicle’s license plate was identified and, after contact with the PRF (Federal Highway Patrol), it was verified that it was in transit through the Joinville region.

When the police approached, the suspect admitted that the girl was in the house. He told the officers that he covered at least half of the bed to make room and asked her to remain hidden until he returned home.

The mobile phone was a gift from the teacher

During the investigation, the police discovered that the girl had a mobile phone given to her by a teacher after her parents confiscated it during school holidays. Thus, according to the professor, they could keep in touch through social networks.

Afraid of being discovered because the cell phone was his property, the teacher left the house on Sunday morning (27) and took the BR-470 towards Navegantes. The cell phone was turned on and thrown into the river near the Joinville area.

“In fact, his goal was to give up this mobile phone (…) Since the police came to the house the day before, and theoretically he found out, in desperation he wakes up at 5 in the morning and goes to the coast to lose the police and get rid of this cell phone. He turned on his cell phone, took some action to signal, and eventually lost the police and said: “Look, the cell phone is running low in Navegantes, it’s not here in my house,” said delegate Rodrigo Raites.

When he returned to his residence in Pomerode, he found the house surrounded by police. It is at this point, according to the delegate, that he decides to return to the Joinville region.

“He didn’t know what to do, he even thought about going to Curitiba, staying at his son’s apartment, thinking about what to do, whether to give himself up, stay on the run or go somewhere else, and that’s when he didn’t know what to do, and was heading to Curitiba, he was approached by the federal highway police and municipal security.

The suspect also admitted that he wanted to live with a young woman and was waiting for the approval of a public tender to teach in the Parana public education network.
