Two men under investigation by the civilian police were arrested this Monday (21) for attempting to stab a security guard and an employee of an establishment in Gaspare, in the Itajai Valley. According to police, the incident occurred on April 30 this year.

The establishment where the incident occurred is located in the Santa Terezinha area and consists of a sports arena, as well as a snack bar and a bar.

After that, the defendants left Gaspar, but after a long investigation, the suspects were identified and preventively arrested. One in Joinville, north of Santa Catarina, and the other in Santana, in the state of Amapa, more than 3,000 kilometers from Gaspar.

Delegate Diogo Medeiros said that a police investigation launched after the incident found that on 30 April a group of people had rioted at a factory where a security guard worked. Due to the confusion, the staff at the establishment first asked the group to go outside.

Then, already outside, the turmoil turned into a general fight and the place was vandalized. At this time, the guard was hit on the head with an iron rod, and the gates of the arena were broken open.

According to the civil police of Gaspar, even on the ground, the guard continued to be beaten and kicked by other unknown persons. One of the suspects even attacked him with a glass bottle.

Trying to help the guard, another officer was hit with an iron bar in the shoulder area. After the cessation of the general disorder and the closure of the institution, the two defendants returned to the institution, armed with knives, and broke through the door of the institution, which was closed.

A security camera captured the actions of the couple, who again tried to attack the guard. According to civilian police, he was hospitalized and managed to survive. The case continues to be investigated, and the arrested duo remains at the disposal of justice.
