Works on the road contour in Greater Florianopolis should be completed only on the 1st. Semester 2024. These are the conclusions of a technical study carried out by engineer Ricardo Saporiti, which contradicts the forecasts of the concessionaire Arteris and ANTT.
According to the analysis, “the estimated remaining volume of works and services is very significant, as well as the frequency of rainy periods in the region, which makes it unlikely that the work will be completed by the end of 2023, according to a forecast established by the National Land Transportation Agency (ANTT).”
It goes on to say, “Given the size of the project as a whole, a delay is likely due to unforeseen technical issues, heavy rainfall and a breach of contract with one of the contractors doing the work,” the president says. FIESC, Mario Cesar de Aguiar. The study shows that the four twin tunnel executive projects planned throughout construction, with their respective budgets, waited about 24 months to receive execution orders that the regulatory agency issues to the concessionaire. The analysis shows that when drawing up the executive project in 1995, it was assumed that in 2015 the volume of intercity transportation would be 18,000 vehicles per day. By 2024, traffic is expected to be around 23,000 per day in Contorno. Today, this flow passes through urban sections of BR-101 in Palos, San José, Florianopolis and Biguaçu.”
Saporiti, in turn, warns of the need for the municipalities to draw up a plan to occupy the territories around Via de Contorno. “The executive and legislature of Palos, San José, Biguaço and Governor Celso Ramos urgently need to come up with a master plan to streamline development,” he says.
