This Monday morning (10th), around 9 am, Cobra (Search and Rescue and Assault Command), a unit belonging to BOPE (Special Police Operations Battalion), carried out a mock bank robbery with hostages. The simulation took place in a bank branch in the Jardim Cidade area of Florianopolis, in San José, in Greater Florianopolis.
According to the commander of the Bope, Lieutenant Colonel Richard Westphal, the operation was carried out in order to simulate a bank robbery with hostages. The action ended around 10 am.
The street was closed for imitation
The simulation was carried out at the Banco do Brasil branch located on Rua Padre Justino Cortegens in San José. In order to carry out the necessary maneuvers, the street in front of the bank branch was blocked in both directions for the duration of the simulation.
Commander Westphal indicates that a new action will be held next Wednesday (12) at the same place and at the same time.
