The families and friends of Heitor Guilherme Genovei Júnior and Felipe Furquim, victims of the Paraná plane crash, are gathering this Saturday (8) for the victims’ commemoration. The ceremony, which takes place in Umuaram, is held together and is open to the public.

Heitor Guilherme Genovei Jr., 42, and Felipe Furquim, 35, were advisers to the Governor of Parana Ratinho Jr. (PSD). Jonas Borges Juliao, 37, was an aircraft pilot. The plane went missing on Monday (3) while passing through the Serra do Mar. The bodies of the dead were found this Friday (7) in the area.

A wake for the three men will take place from 10:00 am at the Amário Vieira da Costa Sports Gym. The bodies are sent to the funeral after 5 pm. From 7 am to 10 am, a separate ceremony was held for family members only. After 10:00 the wake is open to the public.

The search began after the plane disappeared from radar near Serra do Mar. The plane took off from Umuarama (PR). The wreckage of the plane was also found in the search area.

According to the fire department, the plane took off from Umuarama airport around 7:15 am last Monday and was heading to Paranagua, on the coast. The pilot’s last communication was made at 10 am with the Ponta Grossa airport.

Cinacta (Joint Center for Air Defense and Air Traffic Control) contacted the fire department around 2:00 pm, saying that the aircraft had not activated the ELT (emergency locator transmitter) and asked that a search be started.
