A woman was hit by a CBMSC (Santa Catarina Fire Department) ambulance that was helping another victim later this Monday afternoon (22) in Florianopolis. According to the corporation, two people were taken to the Celso Ramos hospital and their condition is stable.
According to the CBMSC, an ambulance was called to treat a victim of the aggression in Biguaçu. The car took the man to the UPA in the municipality, but the doctors asked to be transferred to the Celso Ramos hospital due to the severity of the case.
The fire department claims that during transportation, the ambulance turned on the light and sound alarms and headed towards the hospital. However, while passing the intersection of Avenida Jornalista Rubens de Arruda Ramos and Rua Desembargador Arno Hoeschl streets in the center of Florianopolis, the car collided with a pedestrian crossing a pedestrian crossing.
Ambulance driver says he slowed down before hitting woman
According to the corporation, the driver claims that he slowed down to pass the site and tried to swerve when he saw that he would collide with a woman. The car would have swerved to the opposite side, crashed into a curb and blown a wheel. However, the woman hit her head on the side of the ambulance and fell.
The woman was rescued by the ambulance itself and taken to the Celso Ramos Hospital along with another victim. According to the fire brigade, an operational-search event (Boletim de Occurrence) was carried out, the circumstances of the case are being clarified.
The fire department was unable to provide additional information about the victims or their health status.
