This Monday (15) the IRS seized nearly 330kg of cocaine that was in the false compartment of a van caught on BR-376 between Parana and north of Santa Catarina. It was the largest confiscation of the year by the IRS in Santa Catarina.

After identifying the suspicious type of vehicle, the IRS team sent it to the port of Itapoa, where it was examined by sniffer dogs and checked with a scanner. After receiving confirmation of the tampering with the van, the team opened a fake compartment and found the drug.

In total, 327 kg of cocaine were hidden in the van. The driver and cargo were handed over to the Federal Police for further investigation.

According to the Federal Tax Service, this is the largest confiscation of the year carried out by the agency in Santa Catarina. Two previous seizures made at the ports of Itapoa and Navegantes contained 55 kg and 35 kg, respectively.
