The Itajai Military Fire Department, on the state’s north coast, was called to rescue the body of a woman floating in the Itajai Asu River on Tuesday afternoon (18). The corpse was in an advanced stage of decomposition, and therefore it was not possible to identify the victim.

People passing by the Itajai Asu River, in the Espineiros area of ​​Itajai, noticed the body and called the security forces.

When firefighters arrived, the body was floating in the water. The garrisons requested support from the military police, who went to the scene.

After removing the body from the water, it was possible to verify that it was a woman. The body was in a state of severe decomposition, so it was not possible to identify it. No signs of violence were found either.

A team of the Scientific Police went to the scene and took away the body, which will undergo an examination to determine the cause of death.
