A strange volume on the driver’s waist led the PRF (Federal Highway Police) to find 271 electronics illegally bought on a BR-116 in Mafra, on the northern plateau of Santa Catarina, on Sunday (12).
The attack took place around 11:30. The operatives noticed the volume on the driver’s belt and during the search they found sealed iPhones. In addition, other mobile phones were also found in the man’s shoes.
There were even more expensive electronic devices in the car, such as MacBooks, iPads, Apple Watches and cell phone repair supplies, according to PRF. A total of 271 goods were seized.
And it was not the only attack on Sunday on the track. At around 8:45 p.m., police officers approached the pickup truck and during the search found 33 iPhones, 29 various electronic products, a bottle of sparkling wine and three items of clothing.
In both approaches, the drivers did not provide any evidence of payment of import duties, which constitutes the crime of embezzlement. They were released, but they will answer for the practice. The goods have already been taken to the Federal Tax Service.
