A man was killed by his own son this Wednesday morning (8) in the town of Garuva, north of Santa Catarina. The victim was Fabio Brandalese, aged 50, the crime took place on Palmeiras Street in the community of Tres Barras.

Around 10 am, Fabio was hit with a screwdriver. He was rescued and taken to the UPA of the municipality, but he could not stand the injuries. Initially, the suspicion was of an attempted robbery, but this hypothesis was soon abandoned.

The victim was driving a truck when he was followed by his son, who was driving another vehicle. The 26-year-old man managed to overtake his father’s truck and block his path.

After blocking, the suspect ran into the cab and stabbed the father several times with a screwdriver. A colleague of the victim, who was in the truck, tried to intervene, but was also hit and slightly injured.

The author of the crime fled the scene, but was quickly located by the military police of Garouva, supported by the military police of Joinville. He was sent to the police station, where he confessed to the crime, saying he was looking for his father because he blocked him on the messaging app and did not return his calls.

According to police chief Eduardo Defaveri, the family lived in fear of the suspect as he claimed he would kill everyone while they were sleeping. “All witnesses were heard who reported that the defendant is behaving extremely aggressively, having already had several previous passes for offenses of bodily harm and threats against his mother, grandmother and ex-wife,” Defavery explains.
