In this Wednesday’s commentary, (1st) journalist Moacir Pereira notes that 68.2% of motorways in Santa Catarina have several problems and are in poor condition. The figures were calculated from a survey conducted by the CNT (National Confederation of Transport).

Pereira emphasizes that the data presented on Tuesday (28) at the headquarters of the Fetrancesc (Federation of Freight Transport Companies of Santa Catarina) is considered alarming. The most significant issues identified are signaling and the quality of the asphalt pavement.

In Santa Catarina, BR-101, which runs along the coast of the state, and BR-116, which runs through Planalto Serrano, enjoy a private sector concession. Nevertheless, the journalist emphasizes, these highways are considered the safest and most efficient in Santa Catarina.
