The events took place next to the EX-327 motorway, which links the cities of La Roca de la Sierra and Montijo in Badajoz, as the Alcazaba River runs parallel to it. As a result of the rising water due to heavy rains, the car was swept away by the water and its driver chose to hold on to the metal traffic barriers on the track.
