Blumenau has made significant investments in works, structures and pedagogical programs aimed at the municipal network of public education. Proof of this is that the mayor’s office has invested more than 145 million reais in the city’s educational services, which also include electronics, projects and school materials.
To celebrate this event, Mayor Mario Hildebrandt, accompanied by the municipal secretary for education, Patricia Lüders, presented the investments made on 28 November in the Colégio Adventist. The event was also attended by Deputy Mayor Maria Regina de Sousa Soar and Municipal Secretary for Works Michael Maiochi.
Thanks to the financial contribution made, some projects have been developed for the coming years, such as the standardization of school uniforms, which should take place between 2023 and 2024. During the event, some students made a parade with items. The goal is for all public school students to wear the same dress code.
Prioritizing teaching quality was what Education Minister Patricia Lüders described as one of the characteristics of governance. “All investments made in education, through appropriate physical structure, quality materials and pedagogical offerings, as well as the assessment of teachers, have a direct positive impact on the learning process of our children and adolescents,” he said.
structure investment
The event also mentioned structural improvements in the Blumenau schools, as well as materials that make the learning process easier. Items such as lockers, air conditioners, paintings, changing tables, benches, sports equipment, group uniforms, science class items, and educational book purchases, for example, account for more than 20 million reais in public network applications. .
Mentions were made to teachers such as the creation of a 1/3 hour extra-curricular activity, the Innovative Teacher Excellence Award Act, the Principal and Deputy Principal Qualification Act, and a call for the hiring of more than 700 education professionals.
Works in education
In order to provide a proper structure for studies, the municipality of Blumenau is currently carrying out work in 11 educational institutions, ranging from major renovations to the construction and coating of courts, localization works and the construction of a new sports center. Investments are about 15 million reais.
Another 18 large-scale works are up for auction, and three works in early childhood education institutions have been re-married after the completion of the processes, representing 63.2 million reais in this investment. Of these, 90% come from the mayor’s office’s own funds, and 10% from agreements and parliamentary amendments.
In addition, the Municipal Department of Education (Semed), in partnership with the Municipal Department of Works (Semob), provides an investment of more than 30 million reais for future projects that include expropriation (the use of private property in public spaces), the construction of a new educational institution and the Teacher’s House.
According to Minister of Labor Michael Maiocchi, harmony between secretariats is an important factor for the municipality. He believes that Semob has experience in getting the job done and bringing demand to the folder. “We help Semed to focus on the pedagogical part. This synergy is undoubtedly beneficial for the management and especially for the community,” he comments.
At the meeting, the authorities of the municipality of Blumenau bought out the delivered works for a total amount of 16.7 million reais. Resources were used to build new educational institutions, expropriations, general reforms, and beautification work at 18 early childhood education centers and municipal educational schools.
