The use of social media to sell goods has even been used for drug trafficking. An investigation by civilian police uncovered a criminal organization from Santa Catarina that used the Internet to sell drugs. The arrest warrants were served on this Wednesday morning (23).
In images taken with exclusivity from ND Group, you can see a large amount of drugs seized in Joinville, north of Santa Catarina, one of the target cities of the operation. Orders have also been executed in Curitiba (PR), Balneario Camboriu and Camboriu.

According to delegate Vicente Soares, about 100 kg of raw marijuana, almost a thousand cartridges of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), as well as ecstasy, LC and 37,000 reais in cash were found in the northern city of South Carolina alone.
Drugs were seized at four locations, two apartments and two houses located in the Aventureiro, Iririu and Fatima areas.
How the scheme worked
The delegate says the drugs were sold through social media and sales sites, with a supply and a basket. “They brazenly sold it,” Vicente explains.
Accounts on websites and social networks were made in the names of third parties, i.e. oranges with residences in other countries. After the user made a purchase, the drug was sent by courier.
The operation was carried out with the support of the DIC (Criminal Investigation Division) of Balneario Camboriú and CyberGaeco, the department of the MPSC (State Ministry of Santa Catarina) investigating cybercrimes.
