The civil police of Santa Catarina launched an investigation into a serious accident that ended in tragedy on Sunday morning (16) in Florianopolis.

After losing control of the car and crashing into a wall on the SC-403, the driver ran into two homeless people sleeping on the side of the road. One of them died at the scene of the accident. Another homeless person and the driver were seriously injured.

The incident involved civilian police through the Metropolitan Police Station.

From now on, the investigation will be under the jurisdiction of the 8th police department of the capital. At the moment, the Civil Police are awaiting the results of the investigations carried out on Sunday by the Scientific Police in order to continue their investigation.

A serious accident was recorded on Sunday morning at SK-403 at 4700 km of the highway. Losing control, the driver ran over two homeless people and fell into a ditch. One of them died instantly, the second was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

The driver of the car, who was pulled out of the stream, was also sent in a serious condition, first to the Northern UPA, and then to the hospital. There were four other passengers in the car, all of whom received minor injuries.

According to a witness who was following in his car just behind the crashed car, the driver left a nightclub in the area and was driving down the highway when he hit a wall and ran over homeless people.
