An animal cruelty case mobilized the PM (military police) this Wednesday (12) in Alto Vale do Itajaí. Agents were called and went to the community of Ribeirão dos Ovos in Vidal Ramos to investigate a complaint about a beating of a calf.

At the scene, police found the man who filed the complaint. He explained that the calf belonged to him and that the animal had been beaten by a neighbor with a piece of iron pipe.

In a conversation with the animal’s aggressor, he confirmed that he hit the calf and explained that he did so after the animal invaded his territory and destroyed the crop. The man, whose age was not disclosed, also said that this was not the first time the animal had entered his property.

Against the background of the whole situation, the Prime Minister put forward a detailed deadline, and the aggressor was fined. According to police, the animal is doing well and has no injuries that are considered more serious.
