Nine people were arrested during Operation Synthonia by the civilian police this Tuesday (11) in Santa Catarina. The action is aimed at executing 13 search and seizure warrants and 9 preventive arrest warrants against suspected leaders of a criminal organization involved in drug trafficking in the state.
“At the moment, we have arrested eight members of this criminal organization. We’ve still served another arrest warrant for the ninth man. He is even on trial for drug trafficking. At the same time, about 32,000 reais and several items related to criminal practice were also seized, which will be subjected to an examination, ”said delegate Antonio Joca.
Also, according to the delegate, “the focus of the investigation was the leaders of this criminal organization, which operates here in Santa Catarina, mainly in the upstate region. This led to the expansion of the circle of members of this group. We even arrested two gang members within the prison system: one in San Pedro de Alcantara and one in the Porto Velho federal prison in Rondônia.”
Until Tuesday afternoon, one of the suspects was on the run with a valid warrant for a preventive arrest. The operation is carried out by DRACO/DEIC with the support of the Specialized Police Stations DEIC/PCSC, DECRIM/PCSC, DIC/PCSC Itajaí and the Police Station of the Municipality of Ponte Alta.
