A 29-year-old girl experienced moments of tension on Wednesday evening (5). She was on a bus bound for Itajaí, on the north coast of Santa Catarina, when another passenger, a 66-year-old man, began to masturbate next to her.

The military police were called. According to the corporation, upon arrival at the city bus station in the Cidade Nova area, a young woman got off the bus. The victim reported that the man was next to her on the bus when she unbuttoned her pants and began to masturbate. She called the driver, who went to answer the suspect, after which he ran out and hid in the toilet of the bus.

Police found the suspect in the bathroom, his pants still unbuttoned. The man reportedly said he was “just massaging the hernia”. With this act, a man, a taxi driver from Mato Grosso do Sul, was arrested for sexual harassment and taken to the Itajaí police station.

According to the Prime Minister, the man has no criminal record in the state of Santa Catarina.

The video is circulating and the police are clarifying

A video is circulating online, also filmed at the Itajai bus station, in which a security guard immobilizes a man. The event would have occurred on Monday (3). The military police were not called.
