A man was stabbed by his stepson during an argument at their home in the Salceiros area of ​​Itajaí on Santa Catarina’s north coast. Stepfather and his wife were drinking on a Wednesday night (age 21) when they started arguing. Her stepson, her son, intervened in the fight and ended up stabbing his stepfather.

According to the 50-year-old woman, the couple were drinking when they began to quarrel. Soon the son returned home. Seeing his stepfather quarreling with his mother, the son got into an argument that escalated into a fight.

The woman tried to separate them, but in the end she was attacked by fists, kicks and bites from her husband.

The fight continued outside. The stepson then stabbed his stepfather in the leg to try to stop the fight and then fled the scene. The woman also reported that her husband used marijuana and handed over to the police a bag with about 5 grams of the drug.

The son was found by other police officers. The 31-year-old man who approached denied what had happened, but police said he was taken away anyway due to inconsistencies in the report.

The 45-year-old stepfather was taken to the UPA (Emergency Department) in the Cordeiros area for a health assessment. He was drunk and suspected of using drugs, so, according to police, he did not report.

The knife used in the attack was not recovered by the police. The stepfather was taken to the IGP (General Institute of Forensics), and then all those involved in the case were taken to the Itajai Civil Police Station.
