One of the suspects in the murder of store owner Miriam Hatsue Abe, a crime that rocked the north Santa Catarina city of Garuwa on September 10, was arrested by police about ten days after the murder.

The crime took place on Saturday morning when the shop owner was at her flower shop. A car pulled up with a couple, and the woman got out, calling Miriam. As the victim approached, six shots were fired at him and he died a few minutes later.

According to Delegate Eduardo Defaveri, who led the investigation, the suspect, a 42-year-old man, was arrested at the scene for illegal possession of a firearm and was placed under preventive detention.

Also this week, on September 22, new searches were carried out at the addresses of suspected criminals in the industrial area of ​​Cidade in Curitiba. Wigs were found in the residence, possibly used on the day of the murder. The suspect, named Jessica Alves dos Santos Martins, 31, remains at large.
