The wake of Leandro Rodríguez, commander of the Araquari Volunteer Fire Station in the north of Santa Catarina, was marked by excitement and good memories of the man who drowned on Tuesday morning (30) in Guaramirim.
The commemoration took place this Wednesday morning (31) in Araquari. At 45, Leandro worked for the corporation for 14 years, working as a junior and novice firefighter coordinator, team leader, and instructor until he became a commander in 2017.
During his career, he has inspired several uniformed colleagues. “It was he who gave me the opportunity to work at the Arakvari Corporation. He gave me a lot of advice not only as a friend, but also as a father,” says volunteer firefighter William Sperber.
Known as an extrovert and professional in his field, Leandro received several awards during his farewell ceremony in the presence of firefighters from various corporations. “He was 100% extroverted, 100% dedicated, 101% trained both professionally and personally,” emphasizes volunteer firefighter Vinicius Souza.
The commander was survived by his wife and three daughters, as well as two brothers and other family members. “Every weekend we go out to play football. He took great care of me. Three years older than me, he was my protector, no matter what happened to me, he protected me, ”Leandro’s brother, Evandro Rodriguez, is upset.
A firefighter was found dead on Tuesday morning (30) at a plant under construction on the Itapoku River. He was doing private work in the river and ended up drowning. The funeral will take place at 17:00 at the Araquari Municipal Cemetery.
