The case of domestic violence mobilized the PM (military police) in Rio do Sul, in Alto Vale do Itajai. A 44-year-old woman left her 43-year-old ex-husband in the intensive care unit after she pulled out a gun and shot him. The incident took place in the Barragham area on Thursday afternoon (14).

The woman herself called the police, as well as Samu. She told the Prime Minister that her ex-husband had molested and threatened her for some time. Because of the threats, she said she acquired a license and bought firearms, in addition to training to know how to protect herself from possible aggression.

She also said that on Thursday afternoon, a man broke into her home while she was working with the intention of taking a gun she had bought. She came home and while he was looking, she hid, took the gun and put it on her waist.

After a while, the man took a knife and went after his ex. She ran away from the residence, but he pursued her. It was then that the woman, in order to protect herself, drew a pistol and shot him three times, who was wounded and fell to the ground.

Due to injuries, the man was taken to the intensive care unit of the regional hospital of Rio do Sul. The woman, along with firearms, burnt shells and a knife, was taken to the civilian police department for the necessary procedures.
