Minister Alexandre de Moraes, acting chairman of the TSE (Supreme Electoral Court), ordered the Grupo B38 Telegram channel to remove the false dialogue between the alleged leader of the criminal group and Ciro Gomez, the PDT’s preliminary presidential candidate.

The material has been altered to make it look like Gomez is talking to an unidentified faction leader. A similar decision also affected the Kawai app, where the video also began to be distributed through the user Anderson Tomaz. Information taken from the Poder 360 website.

For this, conversations between members of a criminal organization obtained by the FP (Federal Police) in 2019 and excerpts from an interview with Ciro in September of that year were used. PDT asked TSE for an exception.

Moraes stated that “the veracity of the video has already been debunked by several media outlets, and it remains established that it is a montage that intersperses snippets of conversations between members of a criminal organization with snippets of an interview given by a pre-candidate.”

According to the minister, this is “publication of a deliberately false fact with the explicit aim of linking a pre-candidate figure with members of a criminal organization, which, in theory, is a negative pre-election campaign.”

The minister imposed a daily fine of BRL 10,000 if the group does not remove the video, and also ruled that those responsible for the channel exercise “control over the content broadcast” under the threat of a fine of BRL 15,000. The same meanings apply to a decision regarding a Kawai user.
