During the chase, which began on BR-101, in Garuva, north of Santa Catarina, the gang was arrested and 455 kg of marijuana were seized. The police action, which began on Thursday evening (16) around 22:00, was completed only on Friday morning (17) after the arrest of six people.

According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), four men and two women were arrested. In addition to the PRF, the military police also participated in the operation.

The Prime Minister (Military Police) reported that the traffic police had asked for help to get close to suspicious vehicles that were moving from Paraná. The police began to follow two cars – “Gol” and “Korsa”, which turned into a dead end at 22 km of the highway. When the police tried to approach, those in the cars fled towards the forest and opened fire on the police.

PRF stressed that two couples were found in the area during the police siege. They would have denied involvement in drug trafficking, but in the pocket of one of the suspects, the police found the key to one of the abandoned cars.

Two other men who were in GM/Spin were also detained. According to the police, they communicated with the detainees on mobile phones.

Six prisoners from Paraná were taken to the Joinville police station. They should be responsible for drug trafficking and drug trafficking associations.
