Life itself. And the need to talk about it or keep secrets. And the symbolism of the island is in the feeling. IN Air Island (until January 14 at the Teatro Español) each character, five women from the same family, lives in isolation, although they share a home, food and memories.

Air Island This metaphor of painabout everyone’s unique and personal pain, in a silence of silence that they will only break when prompted by the matriarch, the grandmother, the enormous Nuria Espertto reveal secrets, to bring out the drama that surrounds them, to resolve in an internal journey to themselves those mirages in which they believed at the time and which increasingly force them to distance themselves even more in their relationships.

Living in a world surrounded by the water of unshed tears because they will not appear weak or broken, on the contrary, they will want to appear strong away from their true emotions.

Air Island is a dramatized reworking of the first part of the trilogy. Alejandro Palomas The time that unites us. There is so much nostalgia in these women, marked by the loss of old man Mencia’s eldest granddaughter. His two daughters Vicky Pena And Teresa Vallicrosa, they are still with her, in spite of her, yesterday, today, until now. How much truth there is in his curses, how much pretense that he erases, but only character Nuria Espert will be able to reactivate, despite false forgetfulness and real bitterness. Who cares about the granddaughters they play? Candela Serrat and Claudia BenitoRaise your hands to save yourself from disaster in this rare environment of quicksand and not end up like their ill-fated sister.

existential poem

directs it Mario Gus, who has already more than demonstrated his sensitivity in this kind of production, where emptiness fills everything and where there is pain, but also dreams and hope. And where else is there a glimmer of a smile, because this cannot be endless and existence cannot be a dry dock, which is why they are on an island surrounded by water on all sides.

It is true that they are on the edge of a cliff, but this forces them to breathe deeper, although they continue to see incredible tracks emerging from the waves. The five actresses leave us holding our breath as we go on and on with the existential poem divided into five stanzas. With the aftertaste of words they reveal their wounds to us.

Scenography, music, stage space, video scenes also require their attention, they participate in the environment, although sometimes the viewer does not realize it, and this is their value, because what they do brings beauty to enhance the lives of these women who want control their hearts, but escape through the air of their five islands.
