For the first time, female speakers dominated the stage and made up the majority at the 2023 Startup Summit, the largest innovation and technology event in Latin America. Although the world of startups is still predominantly male, about 60% of the presentations were made by female businessmen, professionals, researchers and leaders of innovative companies.
The wide participation of women in the event is the result of an initiative by Sebrae Delas Mulher de Negócios and Lounge Sebrae Delas, who in this edition promoted more than 70 talks, lectures and mentoring over the three days of the event. hosting women, eminent professionals in technology and leadership, to discuss topics aimed at creating an ecosystem with greater diversity and gender equality.
Regina Noppe participated in one of the performances “Woman of the Future”. “This is my second time participating in the event and I am very happy to see people from all over the country, as well as several companies from outside the country,” he says.
“This exchange of views, demonstrating what Santa Catarina does and sharing that experience with the rest of the world, is sensational. I am very grateful to the Lounge Sebrae Delas, which touches on topics that really shine on the women of the future and which, through their initiatives, are transforming the ecosystem,” notes Noppe.
The goal of Lounge Sebrae Delas is to increase the participation of women in careers in business and technology. Lectures cover topics such as women’s leadership, startups, gender equality in the corporate environment, empowerment, networking, investment, digital business, storytelling, associationism, finance, community building and others.
Women in the “Business Team”
For Marina Barbieri, Sebrae Delas Business Woman Program Manager, the opening of the Sebrae Delas Lounge is a celebration of the work already done. “This demonstrates that we are on the right track and that we have arrived at a transformation in society and in the minds of women entrepreneurs,” she emphasizes.
According to Marina, the reviews are positive, “because we know it’s a predominantly male event, but they seem to be more represented because they are seen as our inspiration. The confidence is unique, we got it right, and from now on there is no turning back: Cebra Delas will continue to support and attend the Startup Summit, supporting the presence of women in the technology sector,” he concludes.
