A total of 20 entrepreneurs from Santa Catarina have completed the internationalization mission in Portugal. Organized by Sebrae, the trip featured Join.Valle, a company that promotes entrepreneurship and innovation in the northern region of Santa Catarina.
In Lisbon, the delegation got acquainted with the city’s innovation system to strengthen relations in this market between Brazil and Portugal.
Join.Valle CEO Fabiano Dell Agnolo explained that this visit was to get to know one of the countries that is currently a global reference for startups. “Strengthening these relationships makes sense because it is an opportunity to access the European ecosystem from there,” commented the director.

Among the visits, the residents of Santa Catarina visited the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs in Porto and innovation centers, as well as the headquarters of Startup Lisboa. Some examples have been seen up close, such as Escola 42, where I teach programming in a different system, with no teachers and no set schedule.
Among the results that the delegation brought back to Joinville: Through investment in technology and innovation, the city of Porto received the Monocle 2021 award as the best small city to live in, Portugal became the fourth safest country in the world and a strong and super connected innovation ecosystem.
Experiences and models that serve as a benchmark for what Joinville wants to bring to life.
