Zurich Airport Brasil, the operator of Florianópolis International Airport, has launched a service to send flight information to passengers via the WhatsApp application.
The initiative is still working in a test format and it can be used by all passengers in the terminal.
Access is simple and intuitive. Passengers must scan a QR code available at various points in the airport, such as on TV screens, at tables and in seating areas.
When scanning, the visitor accesses the airport flight panel and selects which flight he would like to receive information about.
Then enter your name and phone number. From there, you will receive a message every time there is a status change: upcoming boarding, immediate boarding, last call, as well as the flight gate.
“The passenger no longer has to worry about looking for a gate or listening to an audible signal. You will receive information in the palm of your hand. This is another initiative of the Innovation Center at our airports,” explains Fabio Marquez, COO of the concessionaire.
Florianopolis International Airport is the first in the country to have an Innovation Lab, opened last year.
“We place particular emphasis on quality assurance for those who visit us. We want to show passengers that airports are a pleasure to be in, where you can experience the magic of aviation. It’s another way to unwind in stressful situations and have a pleasant experience,” says Ricardo Hesse, CEO of Zurich Airport, Brazil.
After the testing phase, the concessionaire plans to launch the system also at Vitoria Airport (ES), which currently ranks third in the country. Florianopolis Airport, opened by Zurich Airport in Brazil in 2019, is the best airport in Brazil, chosen in the last two years in a passenger satisfaction survey conducted by the federal government.
