In Brasilia, on Tuesday (4), the President of the TSE (Supreme Electoral Court), Minister Alexandre de Moraes, said that the institution is taking the necessary measures to ensure that voters do not face queues in the second round of elections to be held on 30 October.
On Sunday (2), voters from several polling stations around the country complained about long lines to vote. The lines were also observed by the mission of the OAS (Organization of American States), which followed the vote in Brazil.
During the opening of the first meeting of the TSE after the first round, Moraes said that the problems that caused the queues are equal to the TRE (Regional Electoral Courts).
Address
“TGE is already planning and taking all necessary measures so that the queues that have arisen at some polling stations are not repeated in the next round. This will be done to make it more comfortable for the voter to vote,” he said. He called on voters to participate in the second round.
“The turnout of all voters is very important so that we can once again demonstrate the maturity of Brazilian democracy and complete this electoral cycle of the 2022 general elections,” he concluded.
