The TSE (Higher Electoral Court) has received 25,006 registration applications to date, of which 22 were deemed eligible, 17 were deemed ineligible, and the remainder are still pending. All applications for nomination must be reviewed by the court.

The deadline for parties, federations and coalitions to submit applications to register their candidates ends this Monday (15) at 19:00 for those who deliver documents to the TSE or TRE (Regional Electoral Courts). Information taken from R7.

Four years ago, 29,085 applications for registration of candidacy entered the court and 26,000 people were found eligible for the dispute.

In addition to 12 presidential candidates, to date, 170 people have applied for registration to participate in the competition with state governments, 181 people with the Senate, and 8,979 people with the Chamber of Deputies.

There are also 14,024 applications for legislative nominations and 518 people wishing to run for the District House. Each party can nominate only one candidate for President of the Republic, Governor, Vice President and Senator.

In the case of federal, state, or district deputies, subheadings may require the registration of candidates in the number of all seats in each chamber plus one. In the case of the 513-seat Federal Chamber, acronyms can indicate up to 514 candidates.

Women

With a total number of candidates, 30% of applications from each party must be filled by women. Abbreviations must reserve 30% of the resources of the FEFC (Special Campaign Finance Fund) and the Guerrilla Fund for use in the women’s campaign.

The Electoral Rule also specifies that FEFC and free campaign time are distributed proportionally to the total number of black candidates.
