Five business structures of the region have come together to promote the “Vote for Vale Vale Mais” campaign. The intention is to educate the populations of Blumenau, Gaspard, Indayal, Pomerode and Timbo to vote for state and federal MP candidates with elective residence in the region’s municipalities.

The campaign is led by Acib (Blumenau Business Association). President Renato Medeiros confirmed this Thursday (4th) in an interview with Balanço Geral that the business associations in the other four cities are already closed in the project.

“What we cannot do is allow the same thing to happen as in 2018, when we were left with only one federal MP and four state MPs. Our region needs more representatives in Florianopolis and Brasilia,” he said.

How will the campaign run?

Mobilization with a temporary website will begin in September and will focus on proportional elections without involving candidates for senators, governors and presidents of the republic.

The content will reveal a list of all parliamentary candidates who have electoral residency in the cities of Medio Vale, in addition to raising awareness among politicians of the importance of voting in the region.

On billboards, for example, a QR code will lead a city dweller to a website with a list of regional candidates.

“We want five states and up to four federal”

Candidacy registration is still ongoing, but subjects estimate there could be up to eight federal candidates and up to 30 state candidates in the region.

Medeiros says the goal is to get at least five state and three to four federal government deputies elected.

“If we achieve this goal, the campaign will have results. There are two main tasks: for the population to vote, not to give up their power, and for them to vote for those who are from here,” President Asib emphasized.
