The bill, which creates a career plan for the military police and military fire department, entered the process in Alesc (Santa Catarina’s Legislative Assembly) on Tuesday (21). The proposal was prepared by the state government.
The plan was in demand by category and was the subject of consideration by the mixed commission of the Legislative Assembly, created last year. The draft passed a joint meeting between the committees of Constitution and Justice, Finance and Taxation and Labor, Administration and Civil Service this Wednesday morning (22).
The proposal must be approved by July 2, the date the electoral restrictions go into effect. The plenary vote is scheduled for next Tuesday (28).
The proposal includes changes to vacancies for military grades, which will increase the number of vacancies for second lieutenant to 378, representing an increase of 178 vacancies. In addition, all 3261 square rank vacancies will be activated. According to the text, “an increase in vacancies was necessary to be able to give career fluidity.”
The idea is also to create another promotion in the OKEPM (Special College of Privates) for the rank of 2nd Sergeant for those who have more than 30 years of total service, or yet five or more years in the rank of 3rd Sergeant. . However, if the soldier accepts this option, he will not be able to be transferred to the Square board.
As for the Military Fire Service, the project states that a number of factors were taken into account when increasing vacancies, including a new type of shift scale. Currently there are 24 hours of work and 48 hours of rest; with the change becomes 72 hours of rest for every 24 hours of work.
“This inevitably created a need for a significant number of additional military firefighters. This results in the allocation of 25% of the workforce for this purpose,” the text says.
PLC 18/2022, also from the Executive Branch, has also been processed establishing the Semet (Provisional Civil Service), which creates a temporary corps of military police and firefighters.
