A possible death from dengue fever is being investigated in Pomerode, in the Itajaí Valley. The death of a 23-year-old woman this Thursday (30) has caused alarm in the municipality.
According to the mayor’s office, the test has been sent to Lahsen (Central Public Health Laboratory) and once the results are received, it will be possible to confirm whether the young woman’s cause of death was dengue fever.
According to the City of Pomerode, there are no forecasts for the announcement of results. The victim had not traveled or left Pomerode in the last few days.
Dengue in Pomerode
The bulletin issued by the Pomerode City Hall this Thursday (30) shows that there are 85 dengue outbreaks recorded in the city, with the area with the most records being in the central region, where 47 outbreaks have been reported.
In addition, five suspected cases are being investigated in the city. A total of 168 cases have been rejected and 18 confirmed so far.
