With an increase in Covid-19 cases and flu syndromes, the city on the northern plateau of Santa Catarina has made the use of masks mandatory again.
Canoignas Acting Mayor Willian Godoy signed this Friday, December 10, a decree mandating the use of masks in all public and private schools in municipal and state education, including pre-school education, primary school, high school, youth and adult education. (EJA), technical education, higher education, language schools, music schools and other free courses and school or passenger transport in the municipality. In these places, the use and presence of gel alcohol is also mandatory.
Since last Friday, the 10th, the wearing of masks has also become mandatory in all departments of the municipal public administration that have a public service.
The Decree also recommends that commercial establishments, bars and restaurants or places of public events, with social movement or agglomeration, use gel alcohol and encourage the use of masks and social distancing.
According to the municipality, the decree is also justified by an increase in layoffs of employees due to infection with covid-19 and / or flu syndrome.

“INVIDES THE USE OF MASKS FOR EDUCATIONAL PROFESSIONALS AND STUDENTS IN PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SCHOOLS IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF CANOYNAS”
Willian Godoy, Acting Mayor of the Municipality of Canoignas, when exercising the powers conferred on him by paragraph VI of article 66 of the Organic Law of the Municipality of Canoignas, Federal Law No. 719 of July 13.07.2020, Decree of the Council of Ministers of 03.07.2020 No. 464;
WHEREAS the significant increase in the number of cases of people with influenza syndrome and positive for COVID-19 in the municipality;
WHEREAS, even with all doses of the complete vaccination cycle, there are positive cases for COVID-19;
WHEREAS the increase in employee absences from work due to COVID-19 and/or influenza syndrome;
WHEREAS the need to support schools and public health activities;
WHEREAS also there is no state or federal guidance on this matter;
WHEREAS the need to introduce new restrictive measures against new cases of COVID-19 and influenza syndrome;
WHEREAS, the onset of winter usually increases the number of cases of influenza and COVID-19;
WHEREAS the need to immediately inform citizens in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19;
RESOLUTION:
Art. 1 The use of masks is mandatory in all school units of public and private municipal and state educational networks, including pre-school education, primary education, secondary school, youth and adult education (EJA), technical education, higher education, language schools, music schools and other free courses and school or passenger transport in the municipality.
Art. 2nd. The use of masks is mandatory in all departments of the municipal public administration that have a public service;
Art. 3rd. It is mandatory to use gel alcohol in the establishments specified in Art. 1 and 2.
Art. 4th. It is recommended that commercial establishments, bars and restaurants or places of social events, with social movement or agglomeration, use gel alcohol and use a mask and social distancing.
Art. 5. This Decree shall enter into force on the day of its publication.
